2021-2022 SGA Executive Board Petitions

Any person wishing to run for a seat on the Northern Vermont University-Lyndon Student Government Association Executive Board for the 2021-2022 academic year needs to obtain 100 signatures from current NVU-Lyndon student body members.  To obtain a petition, please contact LyndonSGA@NorthernVermont.edu.

Open positions for 2021-2022.  All positions are eligible to receive up to $1500 compensation at the end of their year-long term:​​​​​
  • *Administrative Vice-President: calls roll at the beginning of all SGA meetings; maintains all necessary correspondence and records; makes and distributes SGA meeting minutes and agendas to the SGA prior to SGA meetings; promote and educate the student body of all SGA activities within the Lyndon community.

Qualifications
  1. President, Executive Vice-President, Financial Controller, and Administrative Vice-President must have at least one full year of SGA experience to be elected, or by appeal.
  2. Each member of the Executive Board must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher to hold the position.
  3. Once elected, each member of the Executive Board must maintain a reasonable NVU judicial record.  A reasonable judicial record will be determined by the SGA Advisor with consultation from the Dean of Student Affairs.
  4. Executive Board members shall not hold any executive positions in any SGA-recognized clubs, but can appeal.

2021-2022 SGA Elected Representative Petitions

Any person wishing to run for a seat as an Elected Representative on the Northern Vermont University-Lyndon SGA for the 2021-2022 academic year needs to obtain 50 signatures from current NVU-Lyndon student body members.  To obtain a petition, please contact LyndonSGA@NorthernVermont.edu.

The structure of the Elected Representatives is as follows.  All positions are eligible to receive up to $500 compensation at the end of their year-long term:
  • *3 Representatives from each Lyndon class/year
  • *3 Commuter representatives
  • *2 Non-traditional representatives
  • *1 International student representative

 What does the role entail?:
  • Represent and advocate for your specific population.
  • Host two caucuses per month in a public space on-campus.
  • Attend all SGA Business Meetings as well as all Budgeting Sessions.​​
